at my studio in Southampton, Hampshire.

Collagraphs – bold and richly coloured printmaking

Collagraph course print display

On this three day course we will have fun using various malleable materials such as textured wallpaper, fabric and threads for linear elements of the imagery.

We will also experiment with cutting into the collagraph card surface to create interesting prints.
As the title of the course suggests, we will create bold and richly coloured prints.

A fun three day course with all you need to know to make successful collagraph prints. Covering plate making, using a range of materials, inking and printing techniques to create a suite of Collagraph prints.

Etching – An Introduction
21st – 23rd May 2024 at West Dean College

A comprehensive and enjoyable introduction to etching.

I will introduce methods of etching that will create imagery using both line etching and tonal etching techniques.

We will be working with aluminium plates using copper sulphate to etch.

Print to abstraction with collagraph plates
8th – 11th May 2023

I’m back at West Dean College in May. This time embracing abstraction, well actually working from a still life to kick off and then abstracting and choosing the essence of drawings that have been made to make intriguing collagraph prints.

It’s the first time I’ve taught this course at West Dean. If you are interested in having fun with collagraph plate making and learning more about working with abstract imagery, come and join us in May.

The Complete Collagraph Course

Drypoint and Carborundum print inspired by Bletchley Park

A comprehensive and enjoyable exploration of collagraphs. Covering the spectrum of construction methods from collage to sculptural techniques, card-cutting, and dry-point methods.
A complete collagraph tool kit from initial image through plate making and printing.

Printmaking Summer School

A Comprehensive and enjoyable course in Carborundum and Drypoint plate making and printing.

Group size: Six participants
Course fee: £270
