The Shape of Things – Still Life In Britain

The Shape of Things – Still Life In Britain

I really recommend a trip to Pallant House Gallery in Chichester this summer to see The Shape of Things exhibition. It’s a journey through Still Life in Britain.
There are some absolute gems in this show. A few of my favs were by William Scott, Patrick Heron and Prunella Clough.

On display are also a selection of works by modern and contemporary artists in Britain including Hurvin Anderson, Vanessa Bell, Edward Burra, Patrick Caulfield, Lucian Freud, Duncan Grant, Richard Hamilton, Mona Hatoum, Jann Haworth, David Hockney, Lee Miller, Paul Nash, Ben Nicholson, William Nicholson, Eric Ravilious, Anwar Jalal Shemza,  Walter Sickert, Stanley Spencer, Edmund de Waal, Rachel Whiteread and Clare Woods.

My top tip is to visit during lunchtime, as the galleries are quieter, although you may also want to take advantage of their brilliant cafe for lunch too.

The Shape of Things – Still Life In Britain until 20th October 2024
